Around Woodbury

At the top of the lane is the renowned beauty spot of Woodbury Common. Enjoy walking through this large area of unspoilt, open heathland with country and coastal views.

A short walk down the lane you enter the village of Woodbury. A traditional green is presided over by the picturesque 13th century church. There are also typical village pubs serving ales and food, a fish & chip shop and general store.

Walking & Hiking

For those who wish to venture further afield, you can stroll along the banks of the river Otter to the seaside town of Budleigh Salterton, head to Exmouth where the Jurassic Coastline begins or experience the rugged beauty of Dartmoor with its wild and historic landscape.

Cycling

East Devon has just what an energetic person needs with miles of on and off road cycle routes. Located on our doorstep, Woodbury Common offers access to wide tracks with loose pebbly descents, flowing single-track, stream crossings, with the occasional boarded crossing and shaded wooded sections. Whilst Haldon forest and the Exe Estauary offer trails and riding zones for all ages and abilities.

Whatever you interests or age, Devon has a great choice of attractions from theme parks and zoos to stately homes & gardens that will provide you with a fabulous fun packed day out. You could chose to horse ride over Woodbury Common, golf or fish at the local courses & lakes, or visit the old fishing village of Lympstone and the historic city of Exeter. For the beach-lovers there is Exmouth beach with two miles of  golden sands, along with many rock pools to explore.
